My tips for ageing gracefully and slowly
Growing up, I had always been told that the ageing process is an inevitable part of life. I also once believed that our life expectancy was predestined at birth. My set of values have changed now, based on my personal experience and journey. Now - wiser and in-tune with nature – I have learnt how to prolong my quality of life and how to preserve my youth from the inside out!
In our civilised western society, anti-ageing medicine is rapidly gaining adepts and advocates as the love-child of biotechnology and preventative medicine. This trendy speciality focuses on the application of cutting-edge science and new technologies for the early detection, prevention, treatment, and reversal of age-related disorders, diseases and dysfunction. It is also about finding innovative solutions to prolong our healthy lifespans.
But what about our skin? How can anti-ageing medicine delay the onset of lines, wrinkles, sagginess and hyper-pigmentation? - Home grown and organic fruits and vegetables (picked ripe from the tree/bush)
- Seaweed & Kelp – for detox and glycan boost
- Evening primrose & Flax Seed Oils
- Avocado – ripe fruit and oil
- Aloe Vera juice
- Gluten free grains – Amaranth, buckwheat, millet, quinoa and sorghum,
- Virgin Coconut water, oil and sugar
- Chia seeds
- Goji berries
- Medicinal mushrooms: Shitake, cordiceps, reishi, maitake and lingshi
- Nuts: Almonds, walnuts and macadamias (and butters)
- Green lipped mussels – Bursting with glycos amino glycans
- Eat ONLY fruits and vegetables that are fresh and in-season
